Most every bride dreams about their wedding day and what they envision the day to look like. Here’s five smart tips for helping you choose flowers wisely. Tip #1 Timing is Everything - Consider the time of year you are getting married and where your wedding will be. It will be easier on your budget and you’ll appreciate the quality more if you choose flowers that are in season locally. If you’ve always dreamed of peonies in your bouquet, plan for a May/June wedding. Trying to get peonies in January might be a challenge and will likely break the bank. Tip #2 Get Into Your Comfort Zone – Choose a floral designer you feel comfortable with and one that you feel listens to you. A professional floral designer will know flowers inside out and they will be able to guide you based on your vision, style and budget, even if you know very little about flowers. Tip #3 Color and Design Come First - Pick a color and design theme for your wedding first before your choose flowers. A professional floral designer will be able to suggest flowers and elements that help you create and enhance your wedding vision. Tip #4 Go Green – Using greenery can add a lot of texture to your floral designs, especially if you use a good variety of greens such as seeded eucalyptus, privet, brunia, and other greenery. Tip #5 Recycle/Reuse/Repurpose - Reuse flower where you can. If you have large pieces for the ceremony, recruit a helper to transport them to the reception, so that you can re-use them.
